MultiArchive project leads to massive cost savings at DHL

DHL Freight Sweden introduces scanning into the processing of waybills with 2-dimensional barcodes.

Details:

Stage 1 of the scanning project has now been completed and scanning of 2-dimensional barcodes runs in production with around 2800 documents daily from 26 different scan locations. The majority of the documents run through smoothly, and only a small portion goes into Quality Control for further handling. Of this portion, the majority needs only to be assigned to the correct document type and reprocessed. A few documents are not interpreted due to poor quality and these are then printed out and entered manually.

Prior to the scanning project, staff at Support Center North at DHL was entering all information manually, and therefore the potential cost savings of the project is very high.

Stage 2 has been kicked off, and here Multi-Support Sweden & Multi-Support Professional Services will help DHL add further waybills to the scanning solution. These waybills are with both machine and handwritten text and therefore interpretation and validation is necessary for this task. The processing of the Kofax interpretation and validation is handled centrally at DHL, Support Center North in Karlstad Sweden.

Training of local staff in Karlstad has been carried out by Colin Stoneman from MSUK, both through class room training, web sessions and MS documentation. The goal here is to enable the DHL staff to the work of adding and improving templates at work in the solution.

"This DHL project is an eminent example of the new way of working together in Multi-Support - to the benefit of not only Multi-Support but also the customer." says Kim Hellum, CEO and President at Multi-Support.
