Onninen replaces "stand alone" product with an integrated certificate solution

After using Canofile, a "stand alone" wintel based product, to scan and archive certificates for more than ten years, Onninen decided to implement a complete, integrated certificate management solution based on MultiArchive.

Onninen is a specialist in comprehensive materials services. The company serves customers in the markets of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The customers include electricity, heating, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration contractors, industrial companies, power plants, public organizations, and retailers. In 2006 Onninen's turnover was 1,444.80 million EUR and at year-end the company had a total of 2,984 employees.

At Onninen handling product certificates is a business critical process and a process that consumes a lot of resources.

For that reason Onninen already started to manage certificates electronically more than ten years ago using a pc based scan and archive solution.

"Moving from paper based certificates to the scanned certificates proved to be a huge step forward and have saved us a lot of time and money, but now we want more" says Tero Heino.

Consequently, Multi-Support Finland was asked to provide a complete state of the art certificate management solution, fully integrated with the business application used by Onninen. Onninen is currently using a customized version of the Merx solution from Solteq.

All certificates are upon arrival scanned (or imported) into MultiArchive where they reside safely and fully accessible to anyone directly from within the business application with a single key stroke.

When an order is fulfilled the system automatically retrieves all relevant certificates and includes them with the shipping documents, either on paper or sending it directly to the customer by e-mail.

Fully automated, no manual work, and no errors.

A true 25/7 Solution.

Today the central certificate archive contains more than 110,000 certificates, and in early 2008 Onninen will look into exploiting the IDM (Intelligent document management) concept even more.
