IBM announces MultiArchive server

IBM teams up with Multi-Support in order to deliver a dedicated IBM System i MultiArchive Solution Edition.

Details:

For years the Multi-Support Group has successfully implemented IDM (intelligent document management) solutions based on the MultiArchive product with more than 3,000 companies worldwide, saving them valuable time and money. DHL, Husqvarna, and Polo Ralph Lauren just to name a few of the major names on the list, who base all their archiving and workflow processes on MultiArchive.

Traditionally most of these companies have had their primary business applications such as ASPECT4, ASW, BPCS, DCW, Eniac Business Suite, IBS Enterprise, J D Edwards One World, Lawson M3, Losning 1, MAPICS, Merx, MOVEX, Pasy, SAP, and many others running on the IBM System i platform.

More recently an increasing share of the implementations have been in either heterogeneous or pure Windows or Unix environments.

Here business applications are running on other platforms than the IBM System i, but the customers have the exact same requirements for increased efficiency and scalability in the business processes.

- And the same urge to save time and money.

To accommodate these customers in an even better way, IBM and Multi-Support have teamed up to develop an out-of-the-box solution for building an efficient and reliable corporate archive solution, including hardware, software, and services at a low, fixed monthly lease rate.

The dedicated archive server is the new IBM System i MultiArchive Solution Edition with a Power 5+ processor, 8 Gb RAM, 280Gb Raid protected disc, UPS to protect against power failures, and an integrated tape unit for automated backup.

The IBM MultiArchive server will attach easily to any corporate network, serving business applications on AIX, i5/OS, Linux, Solaris, Unix,, Windows, z/OS, z/VM, z/VSE, and with any client able to run a web browser.

"With this new offering, our bullet-proof server, and Multi-Support's software and expertise, we can offer to the market a complete IDM solution that is both easy to acquire, easy to implement, easy to run, and extremely easy on the budget" says Business Development Specialist Anders Radlund from IBM.
