The application
Imagine managing a group of companies operating in as various business areas as transmission technology, lubricants, process control technology, electrical components, and environment – and then add another five or six different business areas. This should give you an idea of the complexity facing the Finnish trading group Indutrade.
No wonder Indutrade became interested in the IDM concept and wanted to know how a corporate business archive could help and how it could be integrated with their Movex environment. Five companies were selected as pilots and their electronic archives were set up. Indutrade had already implemented e-invoicing for customers and hence the primary task was to get rid of the rest of the paper including the ever growing pile of folders with copies of supplier invoices. Also, the vast amount of general ledger paper output was a target.
The solution
From the very start the importance of MultiArchive was evident, and simple things such as immediate access to invoice copies have added immense value for their customer service. Broadening the archive scope to other documents like order confirmations, transport notes, and other shipping documents made it easy to track down every element of a delivery.
With the addition of InterForm for electronic forms and BlueSeries for electronic distribution, Indutrade were able to build a completely integrated entity – an IDM solution consisting of a corporate business archive complete with distribution and forms management.
“Right from the very start the cooperation with Multi-Support has proven its value, and as the Indutrade Group has rapidly grown the number of IDM-enabled companies has grown to fifteen. This has put additional stress on the need for uniform and standardized archives, which has been achieved with substantial success – considering the rather diverse needs of these different companies,” explains Mirja Åberg, Movex Application Engineer at Indutrade. New requirements keep on emerging in the Indutrade Group - and the IDM Concept keeps meeting them.
